Overview
The meeting point for this tour is the Colosseum. Passing alongside world’s most famous amphitheatre, we can start our tour with the Circus Maximus. This ancient Roman chariot racing stadium used to be a mass entertainment venue and was the first and largest stadium in ancient Rome and its later Empire. Located between the Aventine and Palatine hills, it had enormous dimensions and could accommodate thousands of spectators.
Our tour can continue towards the Palatine Hill, one of the Seven Hills of Rome. It stands 40 metres above the Roman Forum and looks down upon it on one side and upon the Circus Maximus on the other. It is one of the most ancient parts of the city and according to Roman mythology, it was the location of the cave, known as the Lupercal, where Romulus and Remus were found by the she-wolf Lupa that kept them alive. The next step of our tour will take you to another pillar of Rome’s history arose in the Palatine Hill, the Roman Forum. Let's discover together Rome
