Colosseum
After meeting your expert tour guide, you’ll enter the Colosseum with your reserved ticket. You'll head to the interior of the arena for an exploration of Ancient Rome's largest amphitheater.
After the Colosseum tour, you’ll visit the Arch of Constantine, and the Roman Forum, the empire's central square and hub of political, religious, and social activity. See the 1st-century Arch of Titus, the House of the Vestal Virgins, the Temple of Saturn, the Senate House, and the white marble Arch of Septimius Severus. You’ll then travel via the Sacred Way to arrive at Capitoline Hill, and the Vittoriano, one of the most beautiful monuments of modern Italy.
Your tour continues to the Trevi Fountain, as seen in several films, including Fellini’s La Dolce Vita. Make sure you throw a coin in the fountain and make a wish that someday you’ll return to Rome. Then it’s time for lunch (at your own expense) at any of the area’s restaurants, whether you’re in the mood for pizza, a sandwich, or a nicer 3-course meal.
After lunch, your tour will head to the Government District, where you’ll see the Parliament Building, the Palace of the Council of Ministers, and the Column of Marcus Aurelius. The historic Temple of Hadrian is nearby, a grand edifice that Emperor Antoninus Pius built in honor of his predecessor.
Your final destination is the Vatican, which sits across the Tiber River. During your visit to the Vatican Museums and St. Peter's Basilica, you’ll enjoy a tour of Michelangelo’s most famous works, including the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel.
As talking is prohibited in the Sistine Chapel, your guide will discuss the works of art you will see inside before entering. This includes the wonderful frescoes by Michelangelo, Botticelli, and others on the walls and ceiling.
Sit back and relax in a comfortable vehicle for a drive from Rome to Florence. Your private driver will meet you at 7 am at your Rome hotel, and feel free to ask your driver to stop along the way for any photo opportunities.
Once in Pisa you will be dropped off in the main square to explore the city on your own. You’ll see the Cathedral, the Baptistery, and many monuments of Pisa, an ancient Maritime Republic. Of course, no visit to Pisa is complete without that stunning photo next to the Leaning Tower!
After Pisa your driver will take you to Florence where you'll have time for a quick lunch (own expenses).
A local guide will meet you in Florence for a tour of the city’s highlights, including the Ponte Vecchio, Piazza della Signoria, Republic Square, Palazzo Vecchio, and the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore (from the outside) to name a few.
Your skip-the-line access to the Accademia Gallery will enable you to see Michelangelo’s magnificent statue of David without waiting on line.
You driver will then take you back to your hotel in Rome.
