Poor customer service

While seeing the Vatican was wonderful, communication with Viator connection was extremely poor. We were at the correct location a half hour early. We even asked the other tour guides ( who said they are usually late) and the restaurant owner and they confirmed where to wait. A half hour went by and we started to get concerned so we called. We hear a phone ring. The woman had been sitting at a nearby table drinking her coffee. Did she ever think to look around? Then she chews us out that we were late. An email had been sent informing that our time had been changed to 8:30am but, she would squeeze us in. Well as I looked later on, the email was sent at 3-3:30am!
You will likely have to meet far earlier than the time slot you’ve booked for.

The actual self guided tour was absolutely fine, we got what we paid for with no issues.
We chose to book this tour for 10:30.
The night before the tour, I got a WhatsApp message from Rosa telling me that we had to be at the meeting place (a café) at 08:30 due to queues. This was not communicated anywhere on the booking or description information, and had we known this detail prior, we wouldn’t have booked.
As a result, we had to be up at 06:00 to get ready and ensure we were at the meeting point for the designated time, which we’d rather not have had to do on a holiday!
I think that the detail of having to meet much earlier than the time you’ve booked for needs to be included in the description prior to booking this tour. As it’s somewhat misleading.

Marko and Rosa are very nice but I don’t know how this is a certified tour. I booked for 12:00 they contacted me the day before to move it to 8am. I said that’s not possible they did offer a refund or they could move it to 2:30. We were good with 2:30 but our actual tickets weren’t until 3. We ended up missing our train. If you don’t see any other tours for the day you need to do except this one, I would recommend waiting until day of. So many spots opened up that weren’t available 2 weeks in advanced.

The exceptional guides Rosa and Marko waited for us at a clearly defined location at a precisely defined time. After that, we got to the museum entrance by skipping the line. They fulfilled what they promised. They have all of my recommendations.

Our guide Francesca was amazing, her knowledge of the Vatican museum was outstanding. Our best choice today was to have a guided tour, we only queued for a maximum of five minutes a couple of times and also got straight into Saint Peter’s basilica, straight afterwards. Both the museum and basilica are really a must see attraction if you are visiting Rome. 10/10👍🏻👌🙏
