Begin your tour at the awe-inspiring Basilica of St. Peter built over the bones of St. Peter himself. You will start the tour with your professional and licensed tourist guide taking you through security into the heart of the Catholic church in the Vatican city, visiting the awesome Basilica of Saint Peter where are preserved treasures of art like the stunning "Pietà" by Michelangelo.

Basilica Papale San Paolo Fuori le Mura
You'll continue going by private air-conditioned car or minivan to the next of the 4 papal basilicas of Rome - the Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls. The Basilica of St. Paul will not only give you the feeling of the immensity and beauty, being entirely covered by golden mosaic, but will also offer the opportunity to talk about Saint Paul and his incredible life. The Basilica in fact is the place where the "Doctor Gentium" is buried.

From there, you will be driven to the Basilica of St. John Lateran, the actual Cathedral of Rome. A few meters from the Basilica, it will be possible to see the Scala Sancta (Holy Stairs) in all its splendor. According to Roman Catholic tradition, the Holy Stairs are the steps leading up to the praetorium of Pontius Pilate in Jerusalem on which Jesus Christ stepped on his way to trial during his Passion. The Stairs reputedly were brought to Rome by Saint Helena in the fourth century.

The end of the tour of the 4 papal basilicas of Rome is the Basilica of St. Mary Major. Dedicated to Mother Mary, decorated with gold and mosaics this is also the place that hosts the wood of the crib of baby Jesus, and the spot where the "miracle of the snow" took place.
