Itinerary
Stop At:
Colosseum
You'll meet your guide and with skip-the-line access there is no waiting in lines as you head straight for the interior of the Colosseum. Your guide will explain all about this magnificent amphitheatre, how it was designed and built and also about the bloody contests that were held there between gladiators and exotic beasts.
Once back outside the Colosseum you see the splendid Arch of Constantine and then take a short walk to the Forum, Ancient Rome’s main square and the hub of all activity, religious, political and social. Here there are the ruins of many wonderful buildings; of the Temple of Julius Caesar built over the spot where he was cremated, the Arch of Titus, the House of the Vestal Virgins, the Senate House and the Basilica of Mexentius to name a few.
You then proceed to Piazza Venezia with its famous white marble monument, Il Vittoriana, built in 1885 as a commemoration to King Victor Emmanuel II and lovingly called “The Wedding Cake” by the local population.
A short walk takes you to some of Rome’s other “must see” sights; the Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona, and the Pantheon. This is a great 4-hour tour to see the very best of Rome!
