Begin this action-packed two-day tour of Rome and Capri by getting picked up at your hotel in the center of Rome. Or just meet at a designated point in town. After meeting your guide, discuss the various meeting and drop-off points for the afternoon and evening tours as well as for the second day of the tour in Capri.

Day 1: Classical Rome City Tour (3 hours)

Indulge in the highlights of Rome on the first part of Day 1's all-day guided tour. Start by admiring Piazza della Repubblica, with its central fountain, Fontana della Naiadi, and then stroll the streets of the Centro Storico, or Historical Center, stopping to take a photo in front of the ornate Trevi Fountain (and don't forget to throw in a coin or two). Then it's on to the Pantheon, perhaps the best preserved building in Rome from ancient times. After some time admiring the exterior and interior, head over to Piazza Navona, the oblong-shaped square that is lined with outdoor cafes and restaurants and centered by an eye-pleasing fountain by Gian Lorenzo Bernini. The tour concludes at 1pm where you'll have 90 minutes of free time.

Day 1: Imperial Rome Afternoon Tour (3 hours)

Meet up with the guide at 2:30pm near the main railway station, Termini, for the next portion of the tour: Imperial Rome. This 3-hour guided afternoon tour, via coach and foot, takes you to the heart and soul of the Roman Empire, heading to Piazza Venezia to see Capitoline Hill (and the piazza designed by Michelangelo). You can't miss Il Vittoriano, the massive faux-classical monument to Italy's Vittorio Emanuele II, the first king of the newly united Italy. Head over to nearby Church of St. Peter in Chains, a structure that holds the chains that once held St. Peter in Jerusalem, as well as a few sculptures by Renaissance master, Michelangelo. Conclude the tour at 6pm and spend the next 90 minutes at your leisure before the third phase of the day, the night tour.

Day 1: Rome by Night Tour (2 hours)

Commence the final section of the tour of Day 1 by meeting near Termini at 8pm. Hop on the comfortable coach, grab a cozy seat, and be prepared to be wowed by Rome illuminated at night. Ride by the Roman Forum, its Corinthian and Ionic columns lit up, and then cruise around the Colosseum which is a sight to behold at night. Ride up alongside the Tiber River and see imposing Castel Sant' Angelo and, of course, St. Peter's Basilica with its magnificent lit up dome. Finish the tour by getting dropped off at your hotel or another point in the center of Rome.

Day 2: Capri Day Trip from Rome (13 hours)

Begin the second day of the tour with a pickup at your hotel or opt to meet near Termini Station. After traveling to dynamic Naples, hop aboard a hydrofoil boat to the island of Capri. Once there, see the main highlights of the island, including the radiant Blue Grotto (at own expense) and enjoy some free time to explore: indulge in a relaxing seafood lunch or explore Capri's main town. When the time comes begin the journey back to Rome.
