Roman food is comfort food. It's both hearty and refined, both simple and complex (much like Italian food in general). Whether you're eating pasta for lunch or meat for dinner, any good Roman dish will leave you thinking, "someone's grandma made this."
Throughout this tour we will explore some of the most charming and historically significant neighborhoods of Rome by foot, and within those neighborhoods we will stop frequently for snacks and meals indoors. Our goal is to show you a side of Rome that tourists don't generally see. We're going to live and eat like Romans! This city and its people are full of spirit, and each meal is an opportunity to catch a glimpse of that.

We will meet for a typical Roman breakfast and follow up with a walking tour around one of Rome's most characteristic markets. We will then stop for a five-course lunch at an authentic Roman trattoria.
We will meet in the early evening for an aperitivo (Italian happy hour) and then make our way to a nearby restaurant with local specialties for dinner.
We will meet for breakfast in one of Rome's most charming neighborhoods. After some exploring, we will stop for a quick bite of some typically Roman "pizza al taglio" (pizza slices) and then make our way to a local enoteca for wine, cheese, and cured meats.
Friday: On our final day we will meet for an evening aperitivo and then travel about 20 minutes outside of the city center to a wonderful Roman steakhouse. Yes, Italians eat steak too!
