Reviews for Colosseum Arena Tour With Access Roman Forum And Palatine Hill
Amazing overview of ancient ruins
Meganne_F
I could not make my original reservation, so they offered me this as an option. In 2 hours, I was able to walk around and see many of the ruins. Between the signs and some earlier reading, I got to see some ancient homes, places of the Greek gods and Augustus. The gardens, aqueducts and reconstruction were amazing to see
Rebooked because it was too crowded

The tour we received was great! The guide was knowledgeable and engaging. The problem was that we arrived for our 1pm tour with arena access and we’re told we had been rebooked on a3pm tour without access to the arena. The reason that we were given was that it was too crowded. I thought that was the point of advance booking of the tour??? It was disappointing to say the least.
Terrible customer service

This your was not offered to us and we are still waiting for a refund. They said the colloseum floor was too crowded and we could not go. Viator is ignoring my requests for a refund.
TERRIBLE … DO NOT BOOK

Terrible communication. The email confirmation allowed me to download a ticket with a bar code and add it to my wallet. Not until I got to the Colosseum, did I learn that there was a “meeting point.” I went back through all emails to make sure I hadn’t overlooked this. It turns out the meeting point is only mentioned on the attached PDF that the email says you can print if you can’t get the tickets on your mobile device. After 30 minutes of searching in the horrible July heat, we arrived at the meeting point to be told that the tour had been delayed 50 minutes. The gentleman confidently told me I had been sent an email. He connected me to WiFi so I could open my email and he could prove it to me. But NOPE. No email. So he calls someone who says they have been calling and “what’s app-ing” to try to reach me. That was true. I had cellular turned off. We waited 50 sweaty minutes to finally join up with an Italian tour guide from Serbia. Imagine that accent speaking to us in English. We could not understand most of what she said … and she talked non-stop for the entire tour. The tour did get us in through some group entrance, but there was still a lot of waiting made worse by the heat and the babbling that we could not understand very well. The tour did get us on the newly built arena floor. That was a great view. The tour guide did her best to keep us in the shade as much as possible. (It was DANGEROUSLY hot that day.) At the end of the tour there was a big ol’ manipulative scam that about sent us through the roof. We had to wait AGAIN in the heat for the tour guide’s colleague to bring the GROUP tickets to the Colosseum from the not-so-close-and-hard-to-find office. These tickets were supposed to be individual use at our leisure but we had to go through with the tour guide (who continued to talk to us despite our communication otherwise) AT THAT (hot and sweaty) TIME. By this time the group had gone down from 16 people to FOUR! Everybody was just using this to get into the Colosseum and they were dropping like flies in the heat and boring descriptions. This was a TERRIBLE experience all around. I will avoid Trip Advisor in the future based on this experience. Lesson learned: book experiences way in advance OR go with the flow of each day knowing you may not see all you want to see because of lines.
Nice guide for colosseum and really helpful agency

The experience was nice. We did had only colosseum guided. It would had been nice to give us at lease some printed info about the other spaces or at least give us the possibility to enter when we want and not together. I ve been told that it was a group entrance that is why this was not possible but even if we were a few minutes late in the forum they did make all efforts to help us
