Itinerary
Pass By:
Porta San Sebastiano
the ancient roman walls are still pretty strudy and cycling past thgem we can get a glimpse of the walls and the roman gate.
This park is filled with ancient roman ruins: roman villas, aqueducts and roads. The amazing things is that its just a stones throw from the metroline A, not out in the countryside as from from civilization as it seems!
This urban quarter of Rome holds one of its best kept secrets the "Mercato Rionale di Quadraro", a real haven for fooodies and italianites. With more than 50 different food stalls all supplying locally produced fruit, veg, wines, hams, cheeses, breads, olives etc its an amazing experience to do some select shopping here. All at local prices as well!
Picnic Stop at a Local Spring!
This amazing little gem of a local secret has been fully revamped; toilets, park benches, sunday markets, weekend festivities and summer night parties.
More importantly its a place of historic value since its been used since ancient roman time as a source of mineral water.
Today it has a bottling plant where they bottle their brand of mineral water but have left a section of open taps for the public to come fill up their own flasks etc.
