We had booked Walking Tour of Vatican Museums & Sistine Chapel for 29.06.2024 5:30 pm through Tripadvisor/ Viator for 5 people (2 Adults, 2 Children & 1 Youth for $366.59. We came to the meeting point provided in the Booking at 4:15 pm, well before time. To our shock we found the given shop closed (Via Germanico, 28, Rome) . We enquired about the same from the nearby shop & they told us that since it was a holiday this particular shop was closed since morning. I called on the number provided in the booking details & the person told us that today was a holiday & he could not do anything about it & he would be refunding our entire amount. He said that he had send an email yesterday informing us about the same , but I did not receive any email, neither from him nor from TripAdvisor/ Viator. Other people have also come here & they also didn’t receive any email or call regarding the cancellation.
This has caused great inconvenience to us as we had planned for this & are here in Rome to see the Vatican. Kindly get our money refunded at the earliest & also provide compensation as this has caused a lot of inconvenience to us. Also, if today was a holiday why was our booking & money was accepted.

The tour guide didn’t show up nor did the operator informed us that the tour was cancelled. We waited for 45 mins for the tour guide to show up so we called the Viator and they didn’t even know that the operator cancelled the tour.
Average tour experience - NOT A SKIP THE LINE TOUR

Tour guide was good. Audio was not great.
This is not a skip-the-line tour. We waited about 40min outside in blistering sun before being able to enter the Vatican museum (tour entrance).
It was pretty expensive ($306) for 2 adults and 2 teenagers, for a roughly 1hr30min tour.

This company is putting people on the street around the Sixtine Chapel with fake badges clamining they were „Official Tourist Information members“.
They tell everyone that doesn’t have an online ticket that they shouldn’t bother going any further and that they should buy a ticket from the „official ticket office“ which is their shady little office around the corner. Long story short they try to charge you $40 for a single ticket. We decided to check out the front entrance first and there were literally ticket booths inside the museum and we bought tickets for immediate entrance for 8$. There were no queues, except for fake queues set up by these scammers to make you pay for some line skipping.

Very unorganized. We were sold the wrong tour by viator and had to supplement with additional euros at the beginning of the tour.
