Vip Experience Private Tour To Pompeii And Amalfi Coast From Rome

Hector was amazing as well as our driver Fabio! Great tour and driver! Made our experience memorable and seamless! Definitely recommend this tour. One of the highlights of our vacation!

I can't leave a review on the Viator site about this tour because it's booked through HOT ... but if you give them feedback please do! The tour of Pompeii was great - tour guide was fun and informative and we learned a lot (hector). Positano was lovely and we had a gorgeous day which made it super special. Our driver was a lovely man ... but spoke very little English and told us that, so the 6 hours in the vehicle with him were without the ability to share any local knowledge. Disappointing given the high cost of the trip. The vehicle was not a Mercedes as advertised and it was filthy! See photo attached. The driver had not driven this vehicle before and it took several stops to figure out how to get the seats to shift so we could get in and out easily - ok for us but would have been problematic for less able bodied people. He could not initially figure out how to shut the rear windows and it was very cold early morning in winter in the back seat. The driving was erratic and scary at very high speed, hitting the wing mirror of a vehicle, mounting a kerb in a tunnel, and generally drifting across the road ... and yes there is Italian driving but this was worse than we saw on the roads. As I said the driver was a nice person and very friendly and accommodating ... but I do not think this was value for money.

We were very much looking forward to this trip. Unfortunately there were several problems that meant that we ended the day feeling really disappointed (especially for the amount of money we spent). We were picked up at 7am from the driver who took us to our vehicle (it was not a mercedes van as advertised). We then started our journey to Pompeii, along the route my husband noticed the driver drifting a bit in his lane and saw that he looked like he was falling asleep! We asked to stop at a service station to help wake him up a bit. We continued on with our journey and it became clear that the driver was lost. We arrived in Pompeii 45minutes late and met with our tour guide who was clearly annoyed with the driver for his lateness. We enjoyed 2 hours in Pompeii and at the end our guide rang the driver to arrange our pick up- unfortunately the driver did not answer the phone and the guide spent the next ten minutes walking around trying to find him. When we eventually located him the driver was not aware that the tour included not only a trip to Positano but also a 1 hour trip to the Amalfi Coast. Due to the late arrival at Pompeii we did not have time to visit both places and instead drove straight to the Amalfi Coast where we were able to spend 1 hour. Overall, we were disappointed with the tour, we didn't really get what we paid for. Pompeii was definitely the highlight but we felt a bit rushed through this due to the late arrival. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this tour.

My husband and I had the best day! Stefano and Laura took great care of us and we had zero worries. He picked us up from our Airbnb and we drove in a comfortable clean Mercedes’ Van to Pompeii. After our tour in Pompeii we traveled to the Amalfi Coast! Breathtaking. Stefano and Laura recommended a lovely place for lunch and did some light shopping. Then we headed back home to Rome. Cannot express how much of an amazing day we had, so much better on a private tour vs a large group where we wouldn’t have been able to do what we wanted.
