The guided tour to the Vatican museums will allow you to avoid the long lines of waiting and had more time to explore one of the world's greatest art collections.
The tour includes the entrance to St Peter's Basilica.
You will be guided by an experienced guide through the most important works of the Vatican museums, from the famous Sistine Chapel to the Gallery of the Geographical Maps, from the courtyard of the Belvedere to the Galleria degli Arazzi, from the Galleria dei Candelabri to the incredible Raphael rooms.
The highlight of the tour will be the visit of the Sistine Chapel, where you can see with your own eyes the genius of Michelangelo, including the renowned self-portrait of Michelangelo, with which the artist wants the world to know that he would rather prefer being flayed alive rather than painting the Sistine Chapel again.

Reviews for Vatican Museum & Sistine Chapel Tour
Disappointing execution
Crystal_P
Very poor execution of what could have been a wonderful experience.
First, the positives: the museum was wonderful; the artwork and history were amazing.
The negatives are lengthy;
- poor communication of start times. We booked for 3:30pm, received email saying our time was changed to 3pm. We showed up on time, but then found out that the actual start time was 4pm. Then we were even later from waiting for 2 other people who were booked with our group.
- the location to pick up the tickets was changed and we weren’t notified. Thankfully someone from viator came to where we were and helped.
- even though we were prepaid and prebooked, we waited in line outside the Vatican city walls like everyone else.
-once inside, we waited again, this time (if you can imagine) for our tour guides to purchase our entry tickets!
-by the time the tour was done, it was 5:55pm. We were led to the Sistine Chapel for the conclusion of our tour, but we were rushed through like cattle because the door to let us out closed at 6pm. Yes, we had barely 5min in the Sistine Chapel.
-by the time we were rushed through the Sistine Chapel, we were too late to visit the catacombs beneath St. Peter’s basilica because they close at 6pm too.
- I was expecting the Sistine chapel to be more like a chapel, but found it to be like a gymnasium with the coolest ceiling imaginable. It was crowded and loud. Totally spoiled the entire experience.
