Trastevere, literally in Latin 'across the Tiber' the river of Rome, the 14th district in Roman times, with the remains of the ancient fire station, a very old quarter where foreigners, Greeks, Egyptians, Jews once lived. Today it is very popular for pizzerias, pubs and jazz clubs. Here we will discover three jewels with splendid medieval mosaics, we will visit some undergrounds in the church of San Grisogono. Then, going through the small streets, we will visit the basilica of San Cecilia in Trastevere, we also visit its undergrounds , with ruins of roman times . Finally we will reach Santa Maria in Trastevere, where there are some of the most spectacular mosaics in Rome.
