Gabriele, a competent and pleasant tour guide, helped us navigate the massive crowds mid-day on a Wednesday. (He said the Pope comes out to see the people on Wednesdays, and many stay and take a tour.) Much more energy was spent trying to stay with our group and getting a quick glimpse of the artworks than actually looking at pieces and enjoying them. Also, the sound quality of the receivers used to hear the guide was not very good. Ultimately, the tour consisted of advancing with the crowds through the connected popes' palaces stuffed with art pieces. I'd recommend not going on the days the Pope has audiences.

Disappointed that We were not able to see the Sistine chapel. Our guide was very good but once she collected the recorder, we could not find her and got lost trying to find our way out.

Tonia was excellent. She was very engaging and knowledgeable. It is very worthwhile visiting the Vatican & Sistine chapel. I recommend paying more money to go early in the morning to avoid the crowds. I would not hesitate in recommending this tour & Tonia.
