Very disappointed

There was a marathon - Race for the Cure - in Rome the day that we booked the tour, and we could not get a taxi to the meeting point. I called the tour provider and asked if we could get a refund or change to a later time, and she said if we could get there within the hour, but we had no way to get there. I explained the situation, and she did not offer another option.

This was our first activity on our trip to Rome and it feels like we really started at the top. We had an excellent all-round experience. The group was well-organised and not too large; as we walked around the museum they varied the path of different tour groups so at no point were we fighting with another group to see something. Our guide, Mattia was very knowledgeable, confident and at ease giving the tour, having already spent several years working at the Villa Borghese. The tour was just the right length for me, we didn't linger anywhere but nor did we feel rushed and Mattia asked at the end if anyone would like to stay a bit longer and continue looking on their own.
Bumped to less desirable time

Our date and time got bumped and we had to take the last tour on a different day. They shut down promptly so we had no time in the gift shop. Guide was OK. Artwork there is incredible.
