Hadrian was a great tour guide - with a background in archaeology, he provided very interesting background and stories about the forum and Palatine hill. The group was also small - just 9 of us, which made it much easier to see.

When my wife, who knows a lot about Roman history, mentioned to the interpreter that Julius Caesar was a Pontifex Maximus, she was told that he never was and was adamant about it. Strange for an expert to be so wrong. Just google it. I would have expected to have someone with a greater depth of knowledge doing this tour. Also, her english was heavily accented and the audio had a lot to be desired.
