Spanish Steps
Your walking tour will start at a centrally-located coffee bar and incorporates some famous sites featured in books and films. Stroll through Rome's network of streets and alleyways on foot, visiting beautiful squares and fountains, as well as monuments that are tucked away at the end of narrow walkways or behind one of Rome’s many corners.
Wind your way along the ancient cobbled streets of the old city, and enjoy some fresh mountain water available from the Fontanelles - the drinking fountains positioned around Rome. Perhaps you’ll want to sample a tasty pastry or gelato; but remember to take plenty of photos of the landmarks along the way!
You'll visit Piazza Navona, a square built where the ancient stadium of emperor Domitian once stood. Currently the piazza is the site of the old church of St. Agnes as well as Bernini’s Fountain of the Four Rivers, designed in 1651 for Pope Innocent X.
A further short walk through the winding streets will bring you to the world-renowned Trevi Fountain where, if you believe the legend, if you throw a coin into the fountain you are destined to return to Rome one day.
