A Great Tour!

My 12 year old son and I participated in this tour at the end of March, and this was one of his favorite activities on our trip. Our tour group was small, there were two other kids around my son's age as well as their families. All three kids were very interested in the Rick Riordan series and mythology in general and our tour guide, Silvano, did a wonderful job engaging with them. Silvano mentioned that he teaches middle school aged children during the week, and it was evident given his skill at interacting with our group and his ability to hold their attention while teaching them a lot of great information. The adults also enjoyed this tour - he kept it interesting for all of us! Definitely one of my favorite tours on our trip as well. I highly recommend this tour, particularly if you have a child that enjoyed any of the Rick Riordan series. Of note, I reached out to the tour company a few times prior to our visit (I had difficulty purchasing the Capitoline Museum tickets online, plus questions about where to meet, etc), and they were always responsive and easy to communicate with.

This was way better than I thought it would be. My son, my wife, and I all learned a lot and had fun doing it. Our tour guide was not only very familiar with mythology with being a historian and archeologist but very familiar with how to interact with kids since he is a middle school teacher. The tour was a full 2.5 hours and we saw so many interesting things in the museum. Just word of warming, the tour is inside the Capitoline Museum and the price of the tour does not cover the price of the entry ticket. Be sure to buy your museum ticket prior to the tour. Enjoy!

Silvano did a great job making the daunting collection of the Capitoline Museum accessible, and even familiar, to my daughter, who is a serious Percy-Jackson aficionado. He has experience as a middle-school teacher, and I think this showed through in his ability to communicate with that age group. We had a grand day out.

My older children love Percy Jackson and were really excited about this tour. They had an amazing time, learned so much and saw history in action. Our guide, Silvano, was extremely knowledgeable and interesting to learn from. The younger kids (under 9) struggled and had to leave early, so tour is really meant for bigger kids, but everyone who stayed (adults too!) had a fantastic time.
