Description
This tour is for sure "outside" the usual touristic areas. The Abbey of Montecassino is one of the most known Abbeys in the world. In 529 Saint Benedict chose this mountain to build his monastery. In February the Abbey 1944 a bombardment almost flatted it. According to a legend, when Jesus died on the cross, the Jerusalem temple veil was torn causing three deep cracks into the rock of what today is known as Split Mountain of Gaeta. On top of this promontory stands the Sanctuary of the SS. Trinity. At the left side of the church, one of the cracks leads to the Turk's Cave, pilmgrinage and enchanting tourist destination, linked to other stories and relevant personalities.

The tour was wonderful, I enjoyed visiting the abbey and the mountain. Sabrina and Luigi chose a very nice restaurant for lunch and the food was excellent. Although I went on the tour alone, with them I felt like I was on a tour with friends.
Best Day

Tacked this day trip on the end of a 13 day tour of Italy. This was for my father-in-law to see Montecassino and Gaeta where he was stationed during the Vietnam war. Rossana, what can I say. She made it the best day of our time in Italy. It was so personalized, warm, friendly and casual. We saw the sites and ate good food and strolled the streets of Gaeta. I could not have asked for a better experience for my father-in-law and I believe it will be a memory that he will hold dear for a very long time.
Great time at greatest place…

The Tour was a great experience, it is a combination of history at Montecasino Abbey and Gaeta natural beauty. Lunch was excellent (pasta of course). It looks a little expensive, but worth at the end. Rossana was great, funny and knowledgeable…
A visit back in time.

My father-in-law was at Monte Cassino in 1943 when the Allies invaded Italy so this was a trip to see what he had talked about so often. We came to understand that ordeal better. But we also visited an area that is not often visited by international tourists let alone Italians. It was a unique experience pulling back the curtain on the vanished monastic life. The vistas from this highpoint are fantastic.

Una visita desiderata da tempo, finalmente si è tradotta in realtà. Un sito importante dal punto di vista storico di eccezionale bellezza. Una basilica che lascia senza fiato ed un museo a completare la visita.
