Wonderful full day tour of Pompeii and Sorrento

We had an amazing full day tour in Pompeii and Sorrento! Our driver was amazing and Liia, our guide in Pompeii, was wonderful! She was very knowledgeable and really brought Pompeii to life. She was able to keep our 4 teenagers engaged in the 100 degree heat! We only wish we had more time to enjoy Sorrento! This was our third tour with Liv tours and all were amazing!
Amazing Day!

Our driver Richard, was exceptional. He was punctual, professional and very engaging. He made sure to make unique stops so we could experience local fresh cheese and of course lemon treats as well. He also had a great lunch recommendation for us. We then met up with Italo in Pompeii who was exceptionally knowledgeable and engaging. We had our girls who are 7 and 10 with us and he made sure to engage them in the experience and provide authentic learning, while also providing us adults with additional information and experiences. From start to finish this was an amazing day and a great way to finish off our time in Italy.

Pompeii in particular is an amazing place to visit. The size and scope of the site is beyond what we imagined. Our tour guide Liia was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating!
Wonderful tour of Pompei

Fantastic tour of Pompei that Lia, our tour guide, made come alive. Culture, architecture, history, daily life, and of course laughter. We loved this tour.
Liv Tours made our vacation to Rome perfect!

We booked three tours with Liv Tours. One of the tours was Pompeii and a bigger full day tour of the Amalfi Coast. A tour of Tivoli and the Colosseum with a hotel pickup included. First let me say that using Liv tours turned out to make our vacation the smoothest and best vacation we could have imagined. Had I known how much choosing these three tours would simplify our trip and make it so good I would have used them for more. First, they picked us up right from our hotel which took away the stress that we often experience trying to figure out how to get to the location. Secondly, having a private tour was so much better than a larger group. We looked at some of those tours and I have never been gladder that we chose Liv tours with a private tour. I am sure the semi-private would be very similar. We were able to have a private guide and quickly get through things and not have to be in a huge group with microphones around our necks listening to someone with a memorized script. It allowed us to see more and not get frustrated moving slow like the big groups. I kept thinking "This cost us more money but, WOW was it worth every penny." I saw those big group tours and thought they looked boring and miserable. This is not a budget trip or tour. If that is what you are looking for this is not for you. But if you are like us and thought we may not be back and we want to make the most of our tour, you should not think twice about booking all of your tours with Liv tours. Liia was our guide in Pompeii, and she was so knowledgeable and personable. She picked us up right at the opening where our driver called her and knew right where she was. She had the tickets and guided us right in. Now the other BEST part of this tour was our driver Fabritzio!!!!! If you happen to have the good fortune of having him drive you, it will be your lucky day. He drove us on two tours, and we are so grateful. He picked us up and had water and even some yummy candy to enjoy on the ride. Liv tours has beautiful vans that are comfortable and make getting to and from your destination a breeze! Often times this can be a very stressful situation. He drove us and even though he was the driver he was also like our tour guide on this tour as he made several stops on the Amalfi Coast because we had this tour as part of that. He was cheerful and friendly. He helped us find a great restaurant in Sorrento. Checked with us before we were done. Showed us the street to go shopping and arranged for a convenient place to pick us up. We had Charlotta at the Colosseum, and her love of Rome and history did not go unnoticed. We learned that she had studied and graduated from the University, and we were the beneficiaries of her knowledge. Again, we breezed through lines, and she was obviously a professional who loves her job, and it shows. Lastly, we went to Tivoli and had Andy as out guide. If you have the time, you really should try to make Tivioli as part of your visit in Rome. He told us that so many people miss this and don't go to see it due to time constraints. We were so glad that we took the time to go see this beautiful place and we would highly recommend going. Leaving the busy city and taking a few more days in Rome will be well worth your time. On our Colosseum tour we booked a pick up from the hotel and we also HIGHLY recommend this. It makes things so much easier and there is no guess work on how to find the guide or how to get to the location. If you are looking at tour companies, I would highly recommend them if you want to make sure your Rome vacation will be stress free, enjoyable and get the most of your time in Rome!
