DO NOT BOOK!! I was nervous about this tour since a lot of the recent reviews were bad. I called the day of and was told to come as planned. When I arrived the tour was overbooked. Since they never cancelled the tour online, I never got a refund. I paid with paypal and it is turning out to be impossible to get my money back. On top of being disappointed, I am $218 in the hole.

They never got tickets and left the group stranded. I booked a month in advance and it did not highlight risk that the tickets were bot 100% confirmed

The guide at the start of the your disappeared and handed us off to "his friend" who provided a walking tour around the Colosseo. Every time his friend tried to find him or check in to confirm our entrance time, he couldn't find the guide. After an hour and a half, the guide came back and told our friend he had to tell us that "they overbooked inside and we would not be going in for our night tour." From the very beginning this guide (Ali) seemed unsure and sketchy. Like they never purchased the tickets for our group and were planning to keep the money anyway.
Another family on the same tour also booked thru viator and had the same thing happen 2 days prior, re-booked for the morning, same error, and re-booked again for the evening. 3 times the same issue. Their friends booked with a different guide and got in on the first night and said the place was empty.
Viator and What's In Italy are a huge scam. This is the 5th bad experience in multiple cities with multiple services (from drivers to tours to transfers). We have not heard a single good story. Never booking via viator or trip advisor again. Use Get Your Guide instead or book direct (which can be challenging in some foreign cities).

Can you give ZERO stars?? Absolutely pathetic company… AVOID!!!!!! I tried contacting them for details of the meeting point… no response all day even though I could see they were reading my WhatsApp messages…. No communication from them at all… I finally get a response when I’m at the meeting location at the start time of the tour… they tell me its overbooked (if its overbooked, then where are all the others that made bookings? ) then i get told the tour is cancelled, but its overbooked, but cancelled?
This company is a complete joke and a scam, Viator should be more accountable for companies they promote on their website.
