Following the new directives of the Colosseum, the ticket to the Colosseum is nominative and therefore it is mandatory to have the FULL NAME OF ALL PARTICIPANTS. Join an innovative "skip-the-line self-guided tour" and explore the Colosseum like never before through our special Oculus glasses. Enjoy the first animated and interactive reconstruction of the Colosseum and its surrounding as they were in Roman times, with an integrated multilingual audioguide explaining you the history of these places. A real moving and multisensory experience for the whole family, suitable for all ages because informative, educational and entertaining! For security reasons is not possible to bring inside the Colosseum any kind of 3D device, then the virtual reality experience takes place outside of the monument before entering. - MEETING POINT: Arch of Costantine, side of the Colosseum. You will meet our staff that will hold a big black flag saying "Ancient and Recent - Virtual Reality Tour - Meeting point" on it.
- Please provide the full names of all travelers when booking. Failure to present a voucher with all travelers' full names at the ticket office prior to entry may result in denied entry to the Colosseum and Roman Forum.
- Following the new directives of the Colosseum, the ticket to the Colosseum is nominative and therefore it is mandatory to have the FULL NAME OF ALL PARTICIPANTS
- The virtual reality experience has a specific departure time: if you arrive late for the meeting point, it will not be possible to join the group or reschedule, unless you pay for the activity again. As per no-show rules, you will not be entitled to a refund.
- For security reasons is not possible to bring inside the Colosseum any kind of 3D device: the virtual reality experience takes place outside from the monument and before entering.
- The Colosseum requires mandatory entry procedures (show children/under 18 to the staff, voucher exchange) and mandatory security check that must be carried out even by the skip-the-line ticket holders. This could require to wait a little more before entering the monument, as this part cannot be skipped.
- The Colosseum’s capacity regulations (no more than 3000 people inside at the same time) may delay the tour departure. This could also influence the smooth running of the tour especially on national holidays, weekends and during high season. So, even the skip-the-line queue may be not as fast as usual.
- Children/under 18 must be accompanied by an adult and must carry passports or a valid identity document, because the Colosseum staff may ask to check them at the entrance.
- Please wear comfortable shoes and bring your own bottle of water (no glass bottles/no alcohol).
- The local operator is not responsible for any inconvenience caused by the closure of the Colosseum/Palatine Hill/Roman Forum due to strikes, events, bad weather, etc.
- It is strictly forbidden to enter the Colosseum and Palatine Hill/Roman Forum with backpacks, handbags and luggage. Please be aware that there is no luggage storage and that we cannot keep your stuff.
- It is strictly forbidden to enter the Colosseum with knives and any kind of cutting object. Pay attention not to bring with you this kind of stuff.
- The tour operates regardless of the weather conditions.
- You are required to show up at the meeting point 15 MINUTES PRIOR to the arranged time of departure.
- Each traveler must present a valid passport or ID document that matches the name provided at the time of booking for successful entry to the Colosseum and Roman Forum.

Great for tweens and adults!

Really helped to visualize what the colosseum was like at its height. Adults and kids really enjoyed it. Really nice to skip the lines as well!
VR & Skip the line-Disappointing

Purchased these tickets for the VR experience and ability to skip the line. The VR explanation sounded very intriguing and exciting to be able to see a recreation of the colosseum dating back to its beginning. We had 10 in our group. My family bought 4 tickets.
The day before our tour. Another family of 2 received an email, that said the VR experience is cancelled due to technology problems and your new time to arrive is 45 minutes later.
The rest of us did NOT receive an email. We went at the 9AM scheduled time but no one with a black Viator flag was at the meeting spot. We looked on our app and there was a message about the cancelled VR.
Since we now had 45 min. to blow off our steam and grab coffee, we left. At 9:20 we get a call that says you are late and where are you!? Another person received communication on the app, '"have you found us?"
We hurried back to the meeting spot and no one was there. We waited until 9:50AM and the lady with the black flag arrived.
We explained our irritation with the process, lack of communication, and missing out on VR.
She couldn't help us and said call the office. We called later that day and they said we would get a partial refund. Our tickets were originally, $192 for 4 tickets. We got an email that we will get a refund of $92. Have not seen that come through yet and it has been 5 business days.
Needless to say, we did get in and skip the line quickly, but I could have paid 19 euros to skip the line on a competitors site and skipped all this hassle!

The colosseum was amazing. There was no waiting around and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall the experience was amazing.
Great learning for the whole family

This was my first time using VR and I loved it! Combining Ancient ruins with Virtual Reality so you could see the Colloseam in it's heyday was amazing! We did this as a family with our 2 young boys 9 & 7 and we all thought it was great, I think the boys would have liked the tour but with the VR it really just added that extra bit to make it a special day out and a great learning experience. The guides were helpful and friendly also.
Don’t waste your money

We showed up 15 minutes early and we’re unable to find the group. We tried to call and message them but they had left without us. We then had to purchase tickets again and then the tour operator got back to us after we had already bought new tickets. When we requested a refund they refused using the excuse that we were late. 0/10 recommend don’t waste your money on this tour.
