Reviews for Private Caravaggio in Rome Tour: Gorgeous Experience of Art
Disappointed

The tour was supposed to show us at least 5 Caravaggio paintings at multiple sites. We were not told that one site was no longer available for us to go to prior to the tour. At another site we could only stay for a few minutes as it was closing so we didn’t see all the paintings. I am disappointed that the tour guide didn’t do her homework with regard to organising the time better. She did refund us money, however, this does not make up for the fact that I will never have the opportunity to see these paintings again.
Chasing Caravaggio

Our tour guide, Renata, was a, if not the, highlight of the tour we called “chasing Caravaggio”. From the moment we began our tour it was clear that this was not only going to be a viewing of the works of the master, but an art history class as well. She provided an in depth history of the works with attention paid to the allegories referenced and how viewers of the paintings at the time would likely have reacted. She also accommodated our need to sit and digest the paintings. Just delightful.
