This privileged tour starts at 07:15am when you will meet your guide outside the Vatican Museums at a time when silence outside the Museums and the sun rises above Michelangelo’s Dome. You skip the queues and skip the crowds that normally encircle the Vatican walls. As you enter the Bronze Doors of the Museum, you know that a delicious American style Breakfast has been prepared to be enjoyed in the suggestive Cortile della Pigna, outside in good whether or in the indoors wide spaces where a table will be booked for you.

Your historian guide specialised in the History of the Vatican and its famous rooms where Michelangelo and Raphael reign supreme, suggests that before breakfast you go straight to the Sistine Chapel, Michelangelo’s masterpiece. Here only a few people may share with you the amazing Nudes in the Ceiling and the Universal Judgement, while on the surrounding walls the superb 15C frescoes of Botticelli, Perugino, Pinturicchio, Ghirlandaio etc, which preceded Michelangelo’s works, will be only a few steps in front of you.

At this point you will have deserved your delicious American Buffet offering the gourmet’s breakfast. Your guide will then be able to explain at leisure some of the reasons why these paintings have been the most exquisite expressions of High Renaissance Art. After breakfast you will enter the superb spaces of the Vatican Palace where the Popes Collections of Antique Sculptures, Tapestries, Porcelain, Maps and other items are displayed in simpathy with the spaces around them. Raphael created the amazing Pope Julius II Rooms - a marvel to the eye. By this time however the crowds will have caught up with you, and only the ability of your guide will save you from the overcrowded parts of the visit.
