Galleria Nazionale d’Arte Moderna E Contemporanea
The National Gallery of Modern Art is the largest contemporary art collection in Italy. The private walking tour starts at the large staircase in front of the main entrance to the gallery. Accompanied by your private guide, visit the four main sections of the permanent collection starting from the XIX century wing of Neoclassic and Romantic artworks. The next section is dedicated to French and Italian art from the end of the 1800s with emphasis on the patriotic and social movements. The tour continues to the third wing, including early XX century artworks, Abstract, and Futuristic works. The last section focuses on the Arte Informale and Abstract Espressionism of 1950s-60s.   Along the way, your professional guide will tell you the history, secrets, and curiosities of all the masterpieces and the works you are most interested in. You will see world-famous pieces, such as Van Gogh's Gardener and Portrait of Madame Ginoux, Klimt's harrowing Three Ages, Pollock's Undulating Paths, Calder's Mobile, Warhol's Hammer and Sickle and many other significant works by Cezanne, Degas, Monet, Rodin, Mirò, Kandinsky, De Chirico, Canova, Balla, Manzu, Pascali, Fontana, and Hayez. After visiting the gallery, explore the nearby Borghese Park, where your tour ends. Please note: This is a private tour and you can choose the pace and ask all the questions you want. Food and drinks are not included but there is a cafeteria in the gallery for refreshments. No dress code is required.
