At its unveiling, the fountain created quite a scandal due to the perceived lucidius nature of the statues. In the same square, visit the The Basilica of Santa Maria of the Angels and Martyrs: a unique historic site in Rome, built in the 16th century by Michelangelo (who sadly did not live long enough to see the completed structure) and remodeled in the 18th century, situated within the ancient Baths of Diocletian.
