Stanze di Raffaello
After having visited the Upper Galleries you will approach Raphael Rooms. It was Pope Julius II's private apartment and here you can admire the Raphael's “School of Athens”, “Parnassus” and “The Dispute over the Sacrament”.

After visiting the Raphael Rooms, you will admire the Borgia Rooms, painted by Pinturicchio and commissioned by Pope Alexander VI Borgia. Here you can also admire the contemporary and modern art collection.

Sistine Chapel
The Sistine Chapel will leave you breathless for its grandeur and beauty. Michelangelo painted all the frescos alone using 4 years to paint the ceiling. Here is represented "The Creation of the World" with stories from the Genesis book. About thirty years later the artist painted "The Last Judgement" on the wall behind the altar.

St. Peter's Basilica
The Basilica was built from 1506 to replace the Medieval Basilica and it took 120 years to be finished. Many important artists, such as Raphael and Michelangelo worked on this project. The inside decoration of the Basilica is very Baroque thanks to Gian Lorenzo Bernini, who projected the “Altar of the Chair of St. Peter” and the Baldachin. The beautiful chapel inside the Basilica host the amazing Michelangelo’s “Pietà”, where this painful moment with the body of Jesus laying on the laps of his mother after the deposition from the Cross is depicted.

Palatine Hill
Once you will have finished your visit inside the Vatican, you will approach Palatine Hill, the hill where Rome has its origins. Now it is a large outdoor museum where you can find emperors Villas and a beautiful panorama of Rome.

The last step of your tour will be in the Colosseum, where you can enter through a regular entrance and go to the first and second rings.

  • St. Peter's Basilica is a Church and as such the Vatican can decide to close it for religious functions without any notice. Local operator is not responsible for unexpected closure of the Basilica. If the Basilica closed for religious functions, you'll spend more time in the Vatican galleries with your guide
  • If you arrive late, you might loose the entrance
  • Please be aware that to enter the Colosseum it is necessary to pass a metal detector security check. Visitors cannot avoid these checks. Even though skip the line tickets are purchased in advance, local operator is not responsible for time spent waiting to pass security checks
