Colosseum
Follow me into this ancient Roman experience. We'll make our way into the Colosseum, wading throws the crowd, skipping the long lines with reserved tickets. We'll spend about 90 min exploring the Colosseum with earphones in a small group. I'll show you slide to help you to picture this stadium, built at Rome's peak, like a venue for public spectacles, sponsored by emperors and ambitious politicians. We'll reach the 2nd level, we'll see the arena from the top, the spot where the gladiators fought but also where exotic animal hunts were staged and stunning naval battles. All the performances were extremely spectacular for the crowd to "ooh" at and 50 thousand bloodthirsty Romans could accommodate in this stadium. Of the 250 amphitheaters built in the Empire, the Colosseum was the grand-daddy of them all because Rome was the capital of the far-flung Roman Empire.
