I went to the class with my wife and sister who are both excellent cooks. I don’t cook. I was expecting to go through motions and then eat their food at the end.
Instead, I actually got into it and had a lot of fun - and ate the food that I cooked at the end.
The key was Matteo, who was very skilled and knowledgeable of his craft with a subtle but funny sense of humor. He kept us all engaged the entire time.
And the food we made was simple and delicious. I highly recommend.

My family had an amazing experience cooking with Chef Matteo. He was very knowledgeable and easy going. The food we prepared was just incredible!! This was definitely a highlight of our trip to Rome, especially for our 11 year old who absolutely loves to cook.

We learned taboos of Italian cooking we have practiced for years like not using egg wash for Ravioli or adding oil to pasta water. We learned how to knead dough and that simplicity was sometimes best.

A highlight of our trip to Rome was a cooking class with Matteo/ One Day Chef. Matteo was able to modify the class for me (who loves to cook) and my husband (who rarely cooks.) It was very much fun for both of us. Matteo is quite professional and had an honest answer for every question we could possible ask. So glad that we are now making pasta, sauce and dessert the right way!!
