Often untold and forgotten, the women of ancient Rome played an important role behind the scenes of ancient Roman society, and your guide will take you on a journey to uncover who some of these key female figures were, and what life was like for them.
In the Colosseum, admire it's grand architecture and engineering. As we know gladiators sometimes fought to their death, many were injured significantly but often nursed back to health by the women who provided them medical care. What was the extent of their medical knowledge, and how did they treat some of these injuries? Your expert guide will provide you with all of the details.
On the second half of the tour see the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill. Learn of the origins of Rome, the monarchy, the republic, and imperial eras, and about some of the influential wives, mothers and daughters of these eras. Discover sites such as the House of Augustus and Livia, and learn about Livia Drusilla, first empress and final wife of Augustus.

Valentina was the perfect guide for our Women of Ancient Rome Colosseum and Forum tour. Our group of 8 learned so much from her and enjoyed her obvious enthusiasm. Valentina was also very helpful in assisting us with requesting and finding our Uber drivers at the end. We've just returned from a month in Italy which included many private tours and we all agree that Valentina topped our list of favorites. She was very attentive to our groups' areas of interest and we loved hearing about influential and powerful women from ancient Roman days.

Absolutely amazing tour of the Colosseum and Pantheon! Valentina was terrific, like opening a book of history, culture and architecture. There is no way to have known the overview and detail on your own that was provided. Wonderful!
